Mixed Media, Drawing & Painting

Big, wet watercolour is so much fun to work with! It is this sexy dance between urgency and patience. I love it! I love that I don’t have time to wonder about the outcome. I’m just working in the moment, accentuating or manipulating the asymmetry of a face or a thing.

Before I start painting, I spend quite a bit of time playing around with scale and composition to encourage a feeling of intimacy with the viewer, but really have no idea where it’ll end up.

Watercolour also plays beautifully with my pencil drawings of War dogs.
