Watercolour

Neil’s artistic focus is both people and places. His medium is watercolour and his landscape work is often done on location either locally or during trips away. He loves the spontaneity and portability of this fluid medium and seeks to create works that reflect what is unique about the places he visits. Recent trips include Japan, Portugal, Morocco and Thailand.

Neil’s figurative work is mostly undertaken in the studio with a model or photographic reference. The aim is to create a story within the image that reveals something about the individual. Neil finds that the emotion associated with the first observation often holds a key to what he wants to express in both the landscape and figurative works.
